Tips For New Ps4 Owners – Whether you want a PlayStation 4 because that new game you want to play is a PS4 exclusive, you’ve decided to upgrade from an Xbox One, or you just want whatever console you can get, buying a PlayStation isn’t . it’s not as easy as it used to be. Sony has sold a total of three different PlayStation 4 consoles, and they often come bundled with different controllers, games, or even the PlayStation VR headset. We want to help you decide which PS4 is best for your needs and budget so you can spend more time
At the end of 2016, Sony announced two new consoles – PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 4 Pro. Both consoles replace the original PlayStation 4, which was released in 2013. Today, Sony has sold over 70 million PlayStation 4 consoles, making it the best-selling video game console to date.
Tips For New Ps4 Owners
The original PlayStation 4 runs the same game library as the latest PlayStation 4 Slim and supports HDR or VR graphics. Under the hood of the PlayStation 4 are almost all the same components as the new Slim model. As you might expect, the PlayStation 4 Pro is the more powerful of the two consoles, but we’ll get to that later.
How The Playstation 5 Improves On The Ps4—and How It Doesn’t
It has a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 8GB of 176GB/s GDDR5 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and an 800MHz 1.84 teraflops AMD Radeon GPU. Since the internal components are almost identical, the biggest difference between the PlayStation 4 and the Slim is the external design.
The PS4 has a two-tone gloss and matte finish, and a light bar that changes colors to show the status of the console so you know when it’s on, sleeping, or overheated. The light bar has been removed from the slim new console along with the optical audio output – meaning that anyone with a dedicated audio system can opt for the original PlayStation 4 or Pro over the slimmer model.
If you already own a PlayStation 4, there’s really no reason to upgrade to the PS4 Slim, and you should probably splurge on the more powerful PlayStation 4 Pro.
As you’d expect, the most noticeable difference between the PlayStation 4 Slim compared to the original and the PS4 Pro is that the Slim is, you guessed it… thinner! Its 11-by-10-by-1.5-inch body is smaller in every dimension compared to the original’s 12-by-10-by-8.2-inch body. It also weighs 4.6 pounds (1.6 pounds less than the original).

The body of this console is 30% smaller and 16% lighter than the original model, with a much simpler design, matte finish and more rounded corners. Sony has also reduced the Slim’s power consumption by 28% compared to its predecessor.
The Slim and Pro models also get Wi-Fi performance boosts to 802.11ac and a better Bluetooth chip from version 2.1 to 4.0.
The original PlayStation 4 had two touch buttons on the front that were hard to find and easy to get confused, but the Slim has fixed that and has more tactile buttons. The included DualShock 4 controller also features an improved design where the light bar moves above the touch pad. Like the original PlayStation 4, the Slim limits graphics to 1080p. So, if you want to play games in 4K, you should get a PlayStation 4 Pro instead.
PlayStation 4 Pro is designed for serious gamers who want the best graphics and performance. It is twice as powerful as the original PlayStation console and features an octa-core AMD Jaguar processor clocked at 2.1 GHz, 8 GB of DDR5 RAM, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, an AMD Radeon graphics processor with a frequency of 4.2 teraflops and a frequency of 911 MHz, 1 TB of memory, 5 GHz and Wi-Fi. -Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. So what does this mean for you? Improved games that look amazing, with better speed and faster loading times. It also features an exclusive ‘Boost Mode’ feature that makes existing PS4 games look better and run smoother on PS4 Pro compared to the other two consoles.

Only the Pro model is capable of playing 4K HDR and streaming Ultra-HD media from Netflix. This means that the PS4 Pro offers higher peak brightness and more vibrant colors. Together, this results in a much more realistic and engaging image. Interestingly, Sony decided not to use an Ultra-HD Blu-ray drive in the system. Console
However, it will also play Full HD 1080p Blu-ray discs, just like the other two PS4 models. You don’t need a 4K TV to use the PlayStation 4 Pro, but your picture will be much better compared to a Full HD 1080p TV.
In terms of rear connectors, the Pro is almost identical to the standard PS4, save for the addition of an extra USB 3.1 port – it has three, which will come in handy for recharging all your controllers. Unlike the PlayStation 4 Slim, it has an optical audio output and an HDMI 2.0 port that allows for 4K video playback. It also features a Gigabit Ethernet port and a PS camera connector.
The PlayStation 4 Pro is 1.1 inches wider, 1.57 inches deeper and nearly an inch taller than the slim model. While that may not seem like much, it’s 43% larger than the Slim, or 20% larger than the original PlayStation 4 console we mentioned earlier, and weighs 7.2 pounds. Also available in white and black.
When Did Playstation 4 Come Out? Revisiting The Original Ps4 Release
Sony has promised that there won’t be any exclusive gaming features for the PS4 Pro or the standard PS4, so if you’re not comfortable spending the extra money on the Pro, you can still buy the PlayStation 4 Slim.
The PlayStation 4 Slim is great for those on a budget who want a stellar little console that’s powerful enough for any game. It may not offer the same performance or 4K quality as the PlayStation 4 Pro, but the graphics are still extremely detailed and impressive. If you have a 1080p HDTV and are happy with its graphics, the PS4 Slim is a decent console to consider for the extra savings, especially since the Slim is more likely to be found bundled with free games and additional controllers.
The original PlayStation 4 is best for those on an extremely tight budget. It’s still a fantastic modern console, but it’s probably the most heavily discounted of the three. You may be able to find a good deal on a used or certified refurbished model.
Finally, the PlayStation 4 Pro is much faster and renders games with more detail than the other two models. If you don’t already have a PlayStation 4, we think the Pro model is the way to go. In the future, it’s likely that standard and PSVR games will run better on the Pro model. If you already have a 4K TV and have the budget for it, you should definitely go for the PlayStation 4 Pro over any other console.
